Shopify dropshipping integration: Automated order fulfilment across our full product range

We’ve gotta hand it to our Shopify app users: they’re a patient bunch. Despite being able to automate orders via the app, users have been limited to selling print on demand products from our relatively small Shopify range — until now.

Our Shopify dropshipping integration has officially joined our suite of sales channels, which includes our popular Etsy dropshipping integration as well as dropshipping integrations for ecommerce platforms like Wix, WooCommerce and Squarespace.

If you’re a Prodigi Shopify app user, this new integration serves as a gateway to our full product range, enabling you to configure any item from our catalogue for automatic fulfilment around the world. And if you’re a Shopify seller looking for a Shopify fulfilment partner, your timing couldn’t be better!

Our Shopify integration automatically routes orders for our products to our global print network, eliminating the need to send them to us manually. Simply connect your Shopify store to Prodigi and tell us which products you want us to fulfil. We’ll then print, pack and ship your orders on demand, leaving you to focus on the important stuff.

The primary aim of this first release of our Shopify dropshipping integration is to fulfil orders for products already created in Shopify. As a result, some features that app users have come to expect, such as the ability to create and publish products within Prodigi, won't initially be available. Instead, you’ll need to create and publish products independently outside of the integration.

Additionally, our Shopify integration currently only offers a limited range of product previews. If you want to add more previews, these will also need to be created outside of the integration. Alternatively, you can import any equivalent products you’ve previously created with other Shopify print on demand apps and assign Prodigi as the fulfilment partner, making switching your print on demand supplier that much easier. Contact our sales team for help mapping your products to Prodigi.

To make sure everything runs smoothly for our existing app users, we recommend having everything set up and managed in Shopify. Then, once you connect your Shopify store to Prodigi, our Shopify integration will detect all of your products and send us the relevant SKUs and print assets. In the event that an order reaches us without the necessary details, we'll email you so that you can supply them before submitting the order to print.

Looking ahead, our next step is to provide a feature-rich product creation process that further enhances our global print on demand platform, including the ability to create previews for all products in the Prodigi catalogue.

While the current release might not have all the bells and whistles just yet, it’s a step in the right direction for Shopify sellers looking to monetise their designs through print on demand, and we're excited to continue improving and expanding our Shopify integration to provide an intuitive and comprehensive experience for our users.

4. Selection of product previews

Our product preview feature has a range of mockups you can use, including for wall art, homeware and phone cases. Product previews are currently limited to a select range of products, but will eventually include previews of our entire catalogue of print on demand products, including 3D mockups like the one below.

Alternatively, you can use our free mockup generator to create mockups for your product listings, as well as any mockups you’ve previously created with other applications or platforms — just remember to assign Prodigi as the fulfilment partner.

5. Flexible fulfilment options

Our Shopify dropshipping solution is all about fulfilment on your terms. After connecting your Shopify store to Prodigi, you can then choose which products you’d like us to fulfil. Select a product and upload your artwork to enable automatic fulfilment, or leave these assets blank for personalising or reviewing when an order is placed.

6. Order status updates

Order status updates will be automatically sent to both you and your customers — no logging in to your Prodigi dashboard required. Depending on the shipping service used, we’ll also pass on any relevant tracking details as and when they’re made available. You can even pause your orders for editing pre-production, giving you greater flexibility and control.
